Our Funds
SWAN Venture Fund was founded in 2015. Every 2-3 years, we’ve formed a new fund, and added investors. We are in our third fund of active LP’s (our members), many of whom are Seattle-based angel investors.
We often lead in early pre-seed and seed rounds into companies that tend to be based in the Pacific Northwest. We tend to be the first major outside investment to a startup, ranging from $200k – $1.2 million.
Some of our team members are listed below with express permission.
Peter Weiss, Managing Member, Forty years of finance and managerial experience from Wall Street (mergers & acquisitions and leveraged buy-outs) through business ownership to twenty years providing corporate finance consulting, startup CFO for many PNW-based companies, general management advice and coaching to young companies and investors. Peter has been part of SWAN since forming our first fund.
Nate Doran, Business Director, Nate has played an active role in Seattle’s early stage investor community for over 10 years, as a fund manager, angel group operator, and startup advisor. Prior to this recent career, Nate spent 15 years working in social research and data engineering. Nate takes particular care in managing daily operations for the funds. Nate has been part of the SWAN team since forming our first fund.
